Also you may see your personal board and the main gameboard. Personal board is place for your private railroad construction site and industrialization improvement. WhiteAndromedaBefore start of the game each player except the first one chooses one starting bonus (each can be chosen once). The order of choosing is reversal to the order of turns. The order of turns is determined by this [red]track of meeples[/red] and it doesn't change without special actions. WhiteAndromeda*Time to work*, comrad! Each [blue]*action space can be used only once[/blue]*, so if cell is already occupied by any player, then nobody can take this action anymore. WhiteAndromedaWhat is the *Track*? That's a part of your main goal - building railroads! On your personal board you may see three railroad routes: *1. [red]Trans Siberian[/red]* *2. WhiteAndromedaIn order to earn VPs (Victory points) you need to [blue]advance your tracks further to unlock new layers[/blue], which will yield more VP each round (in Russian Railroad you [red]receive VPs income in the end of each round[/red]). WhiteAndromedaThere are five types of tracks: 1. Black - 0 points per each advancement. 2. Grey - 1 point. 3. Brown - 2. 4. Natural - 4. 5. White - 7. WhiteAndromedaBut you must remeber some rules: Each *track can be only built if all previous types of the tracks were already advanced* for specified cells. WhiteAndromedaFor now, you have only 1 advancement for black traсk on each route, so you will earn 0 VP per turn. But we will improve this soon enough! Let's take *"3 Black Track advancements"* action (2 workers) which allows to advance a black track three times (the same or different ones). WhiteAndromeda*Great job!* You unlocked Grey track, which gives you 1 VP if you will advance it. But why was it unlocked? There are [green]two types of cells[/green] of railroad (excluding empty ones): 1. The one, which gives you bonus if you *advance on it with certain type of track*. 2. WhiteAndromedaSo, when you've advanced your Black track on [blue]cell 2[/blue], you unlocked Grey track on all railroads (because Grey track can be built on every route). Can you now advance Grey track and earn points in the end of the round? Well, yes, but there is a catch. WhiteAndromeda[blue]These icons[/blue] of locomotives on each railroad is where locomotive on each railroad reaches. WhiteAndromedaAs been said, rouble is a joker, which can be used for some action spaces and as a worker, so there is never too much roubles! WhiteAndromedaIn order to change order of turns and start earlier we need to activate one of [blue]these action spaces[/blue] to gain first of second place on track of turns' order. WhiteAndromedaGreen player took [green]"Turquoise workers"[/green] action space to get two workers! That cell allows, essentially, to exchange 1 worker to 2 workers! WhiteAndromedaAlso you have may already noticed these action spaces with happy engeeniers faces! [red]These action spaces[/red] are special actions which shifted right each turn, so the right one will be inaccesible at the next round! You can hire him/her for 1 rouble if you will be fast enough to receive *personal space action!* If nobody hires him before the end of the round, then this engineer leaves game forever! WhiteAndromedaThis engineer allows for 1 worker (action of every engineer requires only 1 worker) to advance one time Gray and Black Tracks (in any order). Sounds good! Let's hire him for 1 rpuble, click on [green]"Rpuble icon"[/green] near him and then press "Done" button. WhiteAndromedaAlso you may see that place of engineer is empty, and if will be filled onlt at the next round when next engineer will be shifted to this space. Furthermore, you may see these VPs score from 40 to 0. WhiteAndromedaIf amount of engineers are equal then the player with most sum of engineers' numbers will get reward. For example, your hired engineer has number of 3 (you may need to zoom in to see the number). Not much, but it's ok, if the ability of engineer is good for you. 3eng_363bfbd4075ed100
WhiteAndromedaThis action space which gives you 1 locomotive and 1 factory looks pretty good, and you need locomotives. But what is a *factory*? 1slot_action_1363bfbe7ec2fd500slot_action_13 7
WhiteAndromedaFactory is a nessecary part of your industrializaton process! WhiteAndromeda*Industrialization* itself is needed to *earn much VPs without construction railroads.* Above each hexagon cell you may see amount of VPs you'll get at the end of the round, if [red]marker[/red] reaches that hexagon. Points aren't summed up, so you earn only the highest value. WhiteAndromedaBut where we can take locomotive and factories? There is the [red]line of all locomotives[/red] and, well, factories are the backside of locomotive, literally! Backside of locomotives with each number is always a factory with unique ability. Locomotives with identical digit have the same factory. WhiteAndromedaBut when you take locomotive and/or factory you must follow one exact rule: *you have to pick up locomotive/factory with the fewest number available!* So you can't now take anything except 2-power locomotive (and according backside factory), therefore, locomotive of each type will be accessible only when all previous storages of locomotives were drained. WhiteAndromedaLet's take [red]action space[/red] which requires three workers (1 worker and 2 roubles in our case) and allows to take 1 loco and 1 factory. Then you must choose where to place it. Let's place it on Trans-SIberian railroad as second loco. Click on a place for factory, then press "Done"! (in real game you may choose to place factory first). WhiteAndromedaNow you have [red]two locomotives[/red] on the Trans-Siberian railroad and [blue]1 factory[/blue]. WhiteAndromedaFactories, which a player replace, are placed on the main board and any player can buy them. Locomotives, which are threw away from the players' personal board, are fliped to factory side and can be also bought as a factory.2train_2_263bfbee1e73a700train_2_2 2
WhiteAndromedaWe have only 1 rouble left, may it for the next round and pass now. When a player passes, they *receive number of VPs indicated above his meeple's positions on the order track.* Everytime when a player ends turn by "pass" button or when all their workers and roubles are spent then they receive VPs. WhiteAndromedaYou may see order of turns have changed, but why meeples are still on the game board? Because, players, who [red]placed their workers on action space to change their position[/red], *can use them* after all passed to execute 1 action with exactly 1 worker (can't add rubbles and workers from your supply). WhiteAndromedaLet's use "2 Railway track advancement" action space, which allows to advance Track of any type two times (the same or one time the different ones). This action space required 1 worker and 1 rouble, worker can be replaced by a rouble, but *1 rouble can't be replaced by anything*. You must remember one rule: a player receives points for cell only by the maximum Track, which reaches it or have gone further. WhiteAndromedaClick on [blue]this engineer[/blue], move ind. marker, then place loco. 4 on Petersburg railroad to earn a bonus! WhiteAndromedaThis is the list of the bonuses, you may explore everyone by hovering over them. Let's choose this bonus, in which is said: "During the final scoring, *score 7 points per [img]https://x.boardgamearena.net/data/tutorials/img6785ecf54bc742.08529015.jpg[/img] on your board (max. 28 points).* So, now you have only 1 such token and will receive 7 VPs at the end of the game. WhiteAndromedaOne of the last things about Russian Railroads. In the Kiev railroad you may see [blue]cells with loco. icons[/blue] with stars below them with +X VPs inside. A player receives VPs for each such cell as indicated inside the stars below cells where locomotive reaches on the Kiev railroad! So at the end of the round you'll receive 3 VPs (1+2).
