Widgets n' Digit$ offers 3 game modes:

Classic Mode, Boardroom Battle, and The Executive Experience. It is recommended that you start with Classic Mode to become familiar with the core game strategy. Once you understand the basics give Boardroom Battle a try to play with fun card abilities. Once you are able to achieve Turtlenecks and Magazine Covers (Net Worth > $130) then you have a good grasp of the core game strategy and you are ready for the challenge of The Executive Experience.

Classic Mode Game Summary:

In Widgets n' Digit$ you play the role of a business owner. Your goal is to scale your widget manufacturing process and earn the most money by the end of the fiscal year.

Each turn you'll produce widgets in 4 steps. First you create a raw material, which becomes a part, then a finished good, and finally a widget which sells for $20. In order to increase the amount of widgets you produce you need to upgrade each of the 4 steps by buying upgrade cards, but due to limited resources you can usually only afford 1-2 cards per turn. This means that upgrading will leave you with bottlenecks in your widget supply chain.

You can still profit with bottlenecks by buying the resources you need or selling excess resources in the market. But each transaction shifts the price of goods.

You'll need to adapt your strategy to market economics and carefully consider the risk of each investment in order to win in this economic strategy game!

Boardroom Battle:

Introduces 12 unique card abilities to the game. You must balance profitability with powerful game controlling abilities.

The Executive Experience includes the Boardroom Battle cards and adds the Worker Wars expansion:

Worker Wars introduces a competitive labor market for the workers who run your widget making process. You'll need to bid against your competitors for the right to hire workers - the wrong price can have devastating impact to your bottom line!

Game tips:

1. Card prices range on a bell curve from $4 to $20 in increments of $4

2. There are 48 cards in the deck, 12 of each stage. 6 2-capacity cards (2 copies of 3 cards) (price 4-12, worker req. 1-3). 3 3-capacity cards (price 8-16, worker req 2-4). 4 4-capacity cards (price 12-20, worker req. 3-5)

3. You are supposed to use the card refresh to give better options, if you aren't refreshing you're missing opportunities

4. Widgets n digits is about evaluating business opportunities. Sometimes the best decision is to make do with what you have. If you find yourself frequently making $84 or less in a game you are playing too aggressively.
