- No jokers as they are too overpowered to be added
- No 'Rummy!' rules (both out-of-turn pickup and bonus for going out in a single turn) as both interrupt the game flow unnecessarily
- No boathouse and no meld limit per turn as I don't like punishing players who got lucky and it doesn't add strategic depth
- No simple scoring as it is completely unnecessary in automated scoring
- No first meld's 30 points limit as it is impossible to reach with low cards only
- No reshuffle when the deck is exhausted as reshuffling discards drags the game too long
I tried these in other rummy games I implemented already and I think adding these does more harm than good, at least in BGA version.
If you want to allow a rule, which is incorrect (but whatever), then you need to say you can just draw a card from the discard and then NOT use it immediately, because that is what is happening currently. That is the exact opposite of what is described in the rules and is not the way I have seen Rummy 500 played ever before.
Draw
At the start of each turn, a player may:
• Draw a card from the deck (cannot be undone as this reveals hidden information)
• Pick up the top card of the discard pile. The card cannot be discarded during the same turn.
In 500 rummy ('splayed discard pile'), there is one more option:
• Pick up any lower card in the discard pile and all cards above that card together. The bottommost card the player took must be melded or be added to a meld immediately.
If the deck has run out and the player does not want to draw a card from the discard pile, the player may end the round instead.
You referred only a single line without reading the rest...
My opponent was able to keep a card taken from the pile I discarded previously. When I was doing the same I was not allowed to do so. I am a non-premium player while my opponent was a premium gamer.
I chose to report this after few times seeing it happening.
So if you state above, that this is not a bug, then are you saying that there are different rules applicable for gamers paying?
