The board is provided by the publisher but I can mention this suggestion to them. So far others have appreciated the contrast, but adding options to change the art is not hard. So if they provide it, I'll add it.
As for the disconnected suggestion to add a confirm button, there is already an in game preference to turn that on. Please check out the options tab during your next game. I use it myself when I'm on mobile.
