As far as I could see in the reports, this seems to be happening whenever a drafting cards effect (resistance, perception, scavenging, etc) is disrupted while resolving (usually paying for Venom or selling cards Map 4 ability). Maybe a possible fix would be removing the option to sell cards / pay Venom while an effect is still resolving?
