With alien archeology it matters which die is used. I tried selecting one to scout with, but unintuitively it selected one to use for me instead.

This was a bug for me today. I had Alien Archaeology in play and 4 dice in explore phase: 2 white, 2 yellow. First I selected a yellow die and Stocked, and the yellow die was properly used to get $4. However, I wasn't sure if I wanted to use the other yellow die to Stock or not yet, so I wanted to Scout with the two white dice first to see what I'd get. I selected a white die, selected to Scout, and it ended up using the yellow die instead.

I forgot to mention, this occurred for me on table #36519228. I'm not sure what move it was on as I didn't notice it at the time and the Replay function wasn't working properly.

Clicking on the die before selecting the action does NOT solve this problem, even with the red outline on the die it still picked the wrong one and it doesn't even follow a pattern when auto-picking, sometimes starting from the top and sometimes from the bottom. If the dice selection is supposed to be implemented it's not working at all as of today.

It appears this always selects your yellow dice first. If that's the case, can we at least change the stock button to show +$4 instead of +$2 so we can visually reinforce that the yellow die is being selected.

Had this bug occur last night, table 39488317--two times, in fact. I wanted to Scout first, so I deliberately selected a non-yellow die... and it picked the yellow die anyway, so my later Stock action was only $4 not $2 :(

BTW, we should also be able to select which die we use for produce and ship actions. E.G. I want to consume a good with my space docks die rather than a colour match, because I'd rather the extra die next turn rather than the extra point.

Table #48138805 Move #109-110, same issue. 1st die selected (also on top): yellow, stock $4 total. Selected (w/ red box) a second yellow die, further down the list, chose Stock, and it used the topmost white die, gained $2.

This happened again when the yellow dice wasn't at the top. At the very least, if the players can't choose which dice to use, can they at least know which dice is getting used?

This is still an issue. I had 2 starter and 1 alien die on scout. I selected a white die and the options were 2$ or scout tiles. I chose to scout tiles and my alien die was used.

Please let us know when this is fixed. The Alien Archaeology starter world effect is useless now unless you only scout with alien dice, which is not practical.

I am done. I am not going to play this game again until you fix this. Had 4 explorers, one alien die at the bottom of the 4, I select the top one (white) to explore, and you pick the alien die to explore - the only thing I wanted out of this phase was to stock with alien and explore with the rest.
Alien archaeology is a starter world, and if you get it you are screwed.

I'm also encountering this, selecting the die doesn't change the action. The least they could do is to change the text of the Stock button to indicate that you'll get $4 when you stock with the current die.

Just encountered this issue as well. Made sure to select a white die to scout (in case that was how selecting die for actions worked), however it used my yellow (alien) die instead.

Several times in the game, I select some non-yellow die, press Scout, and yellow die gets used.
Feels bad to lose game due to this silliness... And there's not backsies.. you watch game slip away from you due to no fault of yours...

Same issue on Table #98815117 only this time it really impacted game play. I wasn't able to determine which die was going to be used and therefore was unable to consistently use a power on my tile than allowed me to get more money for the Alien die

Agree, same problem thwarted my plans today. Since it didn't say "Stock (+$4)" on the stock button, I assumed it was using a white die first, but it wasn't.

Despite earlier comments, the game ignores any die you select, and seems always to use the yellow one first. (Even if you remember that it does this, it means you can't see what tiles you get before deciding whether you want to get cash or not). This issue unfairly affects the balance of starting worlds.

We regularly encounter this bug in our games, very frustrating and probably has caused players to lose the game more than once. I THINK it always pulls the yellow die first no matter what (I'll post back next time it happens). Very frustrating

Still happening; table No 134845909 Move #98. I clicked the white cube to scout but the yellow cube was used, tried it again (assuming misclick) and it used the second yellow die to scout as well, so I was left with the two white dice to stock ($4 total instead of $8).

It works to click on the die you want to use, and then to hit the button to scout. But you have to really careful about it.

I just encountered this bug, in Firefox (April 14th 2021). I specifically clicked on the blue die before scouting. When I got back from scouting, my yellow die sat wasted in the citizenry, and my blue die was still selected. I lost $2 because of what is obviously an interface bug. It was _STILL SELECTED_, so I had clearly clicked it. It just didn't care that I had.

I encountered this bug three times today so I have a good idea what is happening. With a Yellow and any other dies on explore, no matter what dice is selected the game always picks the yellow first, no matter what order they are on the explore. If you don't hit Stock while you have a yellow dice there you'll lose your chance to Stock it.

Unfortunately I think there hasn't been a BGA developer for Roll for the Galaxy in many years, so any current bugs will probably remain until a developer can be found. I don't know the complete situation, but this is my impression. The current bugs don't make the game unplayable and are mainly an annoyance in my opinion. There are specific bugs that completely stop the game, but these situations thankfully don't come up very often. Hopefully someday all these bugs will be fixed. Maybe soon, maybe 5 years from now, or maybe never. Time will tell.

Game 194567135 - I selected a white die to scout. I could see it highlighted, but then when I pressed scout it used the yellow die, thus robbing me of the opportunity to use the yellow die when I wanted to. When producing goods or shipping goods, it uses the selected die, but not when scouting. This is wrong.

With alien archaeology you get more money for stocking with the yellow die. I clicked on a white die and searched for tiles, planning to reserve my yellow die for stocking later. Instead of using the white die I had clicked on, it used my yellow die to search for tiles instead, robbing me of the $2 extra I would have earned for stocking with the yellow die.

This bug remains. After I abandoned a tile, I attempted to scout using a white die. I selected the white die, but it used my unselected yellow die.

Happened to me today. I clicked on the white die to explore and save the yellow die for the +$2 but it repeatedly spent the yellow. Later I clicked on the yellow die to stock and it spent a white die instead.

Just got hit by this on game #337958198. Action was showing "Scout" as $2 so I assumed it was forcing use of the white die so did Stock first, but it spent the yellow die depriving me of $2

The result of a scout with a white die may impact your decision of how you want to use the yellow die, depending on what you scouted (maybe you want to scout again with yellow or maybe you're OK with what you got and want the stock +4$).
This is allowed by the rules but the interface does not facilitate this - it always uses the yellow die first, despite player input (selecting a die has no impact).

I tried to select a yellow dice, red outline engaged but it still used the red dice that was at the top of the stack and there is no undo for some reason. This did not appear to be fixed

I had Ancient Technology (yellow die stock action = 4$) and Major Research Lab (act as if you have an extra white die in explore phase) in my tableau. During the explore phase I had a yellow, “extra” white, and red die (in that order, with yellow being my die that selected the phase. I wanted to scout with the white die before doing stock with yellow die, so I selected the white die and clicked scout. Unfortunately the yellow die was used instead of the white die.Table #492157122, Move #209)

Why is this still not getting fixed? Again I had money stolen because the game took away the yellow die even though I had a different die selected. Even if you couldn't select the die then it still should automaticly use the yellow die last. Instead the rules are ignored, my input is ignored. And the game makes a stupid move on its own that I would never make and I was not allowed to make my own choices. THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED!!!

I should get 4£ for my yellow dude…. I selected the white die to get a new tile and the yellow guy disappeared it also told me I would only get £2 …. The options leading me to further think it was the white die being used… bad programming needs fixing as it has now impeded my enjoyment of this game a number of times

It is still not working. I selected a non-alien (yellow) die and the interface had as option "stock +2", so I thought I was safe and went for exploring. Instead, the alien die was used. It is not clear at all if there is a logic, like starting from the bottom die, which would however be counterintuitive when there is a die determining the phase.
