Abyssal Trident says on the card that "Note: Die faces that could be acquired due to the effects of Heroic Feat cards that are available for this game cannot be chosen with this card." I am still able to take heroic feat die faces.

I also encountered this glitch. I was able to grab the x3 die face even though we weren't playing with it's corresponding hero. This option was given to me and another player in the game with ID #735955772
