I recruited a hero — the 14-point brown dwarf — which triggered a second hero. I picked Olwyn, and thus should have been allowed to place his doubles in two columns of my choosing. Instead, the game went to my opponent and allowed them to play their turn without giving me my doubles.

Issue on table boardgamearena.com/10/nidavellir?table=503290801 at move 72 during the end of season phase where I was placing my mercenaries.
Based on what is written above, it seems that the doubles are not available when Olwyn is played within another action.

The effect does not trigger if Olwyn was previously recruited by another Player and returned with Odin. Probably the same applies to other neutral heroes.
That is correct according to game rules.
But: Would it be possible to add a warning if a hero was previously recruited and returned by another player?
Especially in turn-based games, you otherwise have to go through the entire game log every time before recruiting a neutral hero.
