nothing would happen normally, but when you have to choose which cards to discard if you tap a card a transparent red cross appears over the card, like if I hovered with the mouse on it... but I'm on my phone!

This happens every time.
This is still occurring and caused me to lose rep ( or at least the first lossless one) and now I’m afraid to play any more on phone because it will affect my rep.
Especially consume rarely works for me.
I have to wait with my move until I sit by a computer. Or click wrong in frustration.
