This isn't a game rule problem, but possibly a wrong setting when moving the game to Beta. I set that I did NOT want to play in training mode and did NOT want to play with 1 player, then selected turn based automatic. I have done this several times and I always get put into a single player game in training mode.

Happens before the first move. The options for the game shows training mode and I am the only player.

This has happened with both Firefox and Chrome. I have tried several times and always get the same result.

I think this is enforced for all games on bga, you can't gain ELO by playing solo games

I just tried to play this game twice with the same result. I set the "Number of Players" option to "I never want to play with 1 players", and it still put me in a 1 player game.
This has nothing to do with ELO. The problem is that we don't want to play this as a 1 player game, but it's forcing us to anyway for some reason.

I have the same issue.
I also want to add that when BGA gives up on searching for players and puts you in training mode, it gives you this error message in a red banner across the top of the screen: "Unexpected error: you cannot change the number of player with this table status: asyncplay"

Same as Nekonyancer here. I'm setting it to turn based and 3 players, but after about a minute of searching I get the ""Unexpected error: you cannot change the number of player with this table status: asyncplay" message and it forces me into a single player game.
