In addition to preventing red thumbs from playing or chatting with you, please include "sending friend request". I am trying to distance myself from people who have cheated or behaved inappropriately in the past, and I can't report the player because they are using a new account instead of their old one which is now deleted.• あなたのブラウザは何ですか?

In my opinion, the closer a red thumb is to a full block, the better. I was also disappointed to see that people I've red thumbed are able to spectate my current games, though was comforted that they would not be able to chat.

I think this is an extremely important issue for people being harassed in an around BGA, and so I'm adding a comment to help bump this up the priority list.
Friend requests can be used by red-thumbed individuals as a message of 'I see you' to the ones who wished to stop contact, which can be distressing. Allowing friend requests from player X to be received by player Y who has previously demanded to minimise contact with player X is illogical at best.

This is now implemented: giving a red thumb to a player will prevent you from receiving a friend request from that player.
