Even if it seems unlikely that you have chosen to die, the bug cannot be confirmed by the replay.
If it is not a bug, it is at least not very intuitive since it seems to occur to multiple people.
The upper bar displays (French) : « Vous pouvez jouer 1 bières pour survivre [Passer et mourir] ».
[Passer et mourir] is a red button. There is no blue button in the upper to click to play the Beer card, only the Beer card of the player’s hand can be clicked.
In other situations where the player must play a Beer card in order not to die, it seems to me that there is always a double possibility: click on a blue button or click on the card.
Even if that’s not the issue, adding a blue button would improve ergonomics in this case, in my opinion.
