I experienced an identical issue, while the people I were playing against did not.
Table # 145846899

I am not using a touch screen.
I'm running Google Chrome Version 87.0.4280.88 (Official Build) (64-bit) with a Fedora v31 OS

No tooltips were displayed for any cards. Selectable cards got slightly smaller during mouseover.

Chrome: 88.0.4324.150 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Win10
HP Spectre 360
Tooltips are enabled

I tried updating the HP drivers and that didn't help. This is the only game that has tooltips that don't pop. Is it using a different style? Is there a particular driver requirement?

Running the same version of Chrome on a different laptop allows me to see the tooltips.

(My two workarounds are play on the other machine or zoom WAAAAY in for this game only, neither of which are particularly convenient)

It is a known bug : computer with touch screens are identified as mobile and thus tooltips are disabled;

Could you try this workarounf and tell me if it works ?

I will try that, but of the well over 50 titles I've played on BGA, I have never had an issue with tooltips until Res Arcana.

That's because we disabled them on purpose.

Tool tips are indeed enabled under options. I even tried toggling them.

same problem: tool tips are enabled and they work fine. But not the magnified cards. Cannot read any details.
I'm using a convertible with touch screen.
But I don't see, why it should be a benefit to disable this function.
Maybe, then you should work on the card's resolution, they seem to be blurred, when I zoom in.

I have this issue on a touch screen, latest version of Chrome. It is an intermittent issue - sometimes the hover will work, sometimes it won't. I don't have this problem in other games. So if the issue is that it is seeing a touchscreen as a mobile device, why does this not effect other games and why does it work sometimes?

I'm experiencing this issue, as well. I'm using an HP Envy x360 that has a touchscreen. I tried using the workaround you posted above, but I can't find "Touch Events API" under Chrome Flags anywhere.

For what it's worth, I discovered that I can view an enlarged card by long-pressing my finger on the laptop touchscreen, but it's still fairly inconvenient.

I hope a developer can suggest another client-side workaround, or release a patch soon that resolves this issue universally?

I had the problem on Chrome (89.0.4389.90) but it worked on Microsoft Edge (I did not check which version it was). So I could use Edge just for this game. But today I updated Edge (89.0.774.54) and now it behaves just like on Chrome, tooltips don't work.

The problem is only for the tooltips with an image, like enlarged card. Those with only texts, like "monuments deck", do work.

Another thing I noticed is that the background is different on Res Arcana, not the default wooden planks but antique looking paper.

I'm having the same problem. I tried on both Chrome (89.0.4389.90 (Official Build) (64-bit)) and Microsoft Edge. Neither worked. Tool tips are enabled. It looks like the next update will bring a fix according to the 2/21 post. Thank you.

I have the same problem. Windows 10 laptop with touchscreen. Firefox 90.0.2. I checked to see if tool tips were enabled in options and they were. Tool tips work on every other game I play on BGA with this laptop.

Any update on when this will be updated? In February you said it will be fixed eventually. Is eventually going to be soon? I see time has been spent implementing the expansion. That would be great news if this game was playable on my laptop.

Windows 10, Surface Book 3, Microsoft Edge Version 105.0.1343.50

Problem only affects Res Arcana, other games are fine.

Same problem. Please please provide mouseover tooltips to the cards. The cards are extremely small and the symbology is really hard to determine if you don't know the game really well. This would make the experience much better.

This bug still exist in the game. Using a tablet, or a PC, the tooltip will not show, making this a difficult game for people who are not familiar with the iconography.
