The new interface is not verry user freindly and it is buggy (see many item in the forum)

PROS:
I can see this benefiting users who are colour blind as each colour has a corresponding symbol.
CONS/CURRENT ISSUES:
1. Clueing Method
Used to be colour vs number, now there are many options
i) Game time increases as users have to read through the options before picking one
ii) More room for error/misclicks especially for those users playing on a smaller device
2. Discard Pile Presentation
Used to be by discard order, now by numerical order
Although I could get used to the new version, I find the old version more intuitive. I’ve never played this game in real life but I would assume that the old version is how the cards would be placed.
3. Animation/Graphics
i) Game time increases due to animation. This could discourage users who just want to play a quick game (eg during their lunch break).
ii) Potential lag especially for those users attempting to play the game using their less powerful, small devices or those who simply have subpar internet connection.
4. Multi-Colour Presentation
Used to be rainbow (I think), now it’s purple. This is something I could get used to with time but the old interface was much more intuitive. Many of us use apps to block blue light on our devices and the distinction between red and purple may not be obvious in the newer version. (I haven’t tested this yet).
It would be great if the developers:
- Made some changes to the new version (with the above 4 in mind, from most to least important, in my opinion) or
- Allowed users the option to select between viewing the game in the old or new interface

Specific suggestions were posted in the msg just above yours. I have seen forum.boardgamearena.com/viewtopic.php?f=102&t=18106&start=180 and I appreciate the impelmenation of "Stacked + Fast Hints" option. Would you and your team look into decreasing the animation/graphics time? The old version was much more seamless and rhythm is important especially for 2 player hanabi games.
I understand that a lot of time, energy and resources were used to create the new version but there's an overwhelming amount of users unfortunately, expressing their disdain for it (especially in the forum link above). Perhaps you could explain to us here why the new version came to be, and why the old version cannot be an option for us in more detail other than "cost/benefit ratio too high" so we can understand the developer's point of view better.
