Could you have a threshold for "auto-use" defend tokens up to x amount of health or something? I guess defend tokens you may strategically want to use in a certain order so you can re-cast them.... maybe like "take defend tokens from strongest, weakest, evenly spread out" options so during turn based it simply automatically uses your defend tokens.. kind of like auto power collect in Terra Mystica• あなたのブラウザは何ですか?

Another idea on the same problem is to give the attacker the option to let the defender distribute all damage in the beginning of their turn if you think it doesn´t matter that much or are far ahead. Would speed up the turn based games alot either way.

Any player would be abe to choose if they want their defense tokens to be auto selected. If a player decides to auto select their defense tokens then when their opponent does some damage, it won't change who's turn it is. The attacker would immediately be able to make another action until all their dice are used and they decide to pass.
A simple strategy for removing defense tokens would be to remove the lowest defense tokens first. This would free up the most amount of actions for that player's next turn. That wouldn't take into account the difference between steal and attack but as a player won't know what type of attack is coming next, it will be very difficult to come up with a strategy for this.
I don't think it's possible to distribute all damage at the beginning of a player's turn as this is too far removed from what the board game does. I think it will need to be kept in line with how the board game plays.
The only issue I'm struggling with is how to give this choice to the user. I could go with a checkbox or action button for this preference but if it's not the player's turn then the player will not have access to this option.

2020年 9月 5日 7:54 • checkboxes will be great i think. then you can have a few different methods of removing defense tokens to chose from. As the high defense token cards are often more effective in regard to tokens per dice I wouldn't go with removing lowest defense token first. I think a priority order set by the defender is the way to go. Different check boxes ideas could be. (All in the priority order set)
Only use tokens vs steal (if it doesn't cause immidiate loss)

start using tokens at x health for all damage

I've created a new release of Dice Summoners Alpha and it will include a defense token removal strategy. This is a game preference which you will be able to select either by using the options at the bottom of the game screen or clicking the three bars at the top right. Hopefully you are able to find these preferences.
Game preferences seem to be standard way of allowing players to choose different styles of play. I've seen this across multiple games but the best example is Stone Age.
I am aware that this does not resolve the issue of turn based gameplay as players must still be logged in for the game preference to be activated. I don't see a way around this as game preferences require the user to have the game running in a browser. Hopefully game prefences gain more functionality in the future.
I've added in two strategies for the time being. "Equal" and "Equal or lowest". The reason I chose lowest instead of highest is for two reasons. One is by removing the lowest defense tokens first you are always gauranteed to have more defense options available when it comes around to your go. Two is that if you don't fully deplete a high defense token then the next time around, it will consider this token too low to pick.
This is a great suggestion as so far it has dramatically increased gameplay and made it more fun. Thanks for your help on this.

It's a little tricky to find but here's how to find it.
When playing a game click the three grey bars on the top right of the page. This will open up the options for the game. Find the "Preferences" section and you should see a drop down for "Defense Token Selection Strategy". You can select one of the otpions here. It should cause the page to reload after you make a selection.
