According to the rules, this interaction would not be allowed, see (Stronghold ed) pg. 12, 3. Growth on fields and pig offspring:
> NOTE: To receive this additional pig, a player must have the necessary space in his den(s). If he does not have the space, he does not get offspring (a player may not sell the newborn pig immediately!).

The rules says that you can sell a pig even i you don't have the spare din room. Another thing is in offspring. If you don't have the room they don't procreate, so you cannot sell that pig.

correct you can still sell the ones in your den at anytime.
this change will just make it so if you get a pig via die and have no space in a den it will be sold automatically instead of showing an error message.

If you have three+ pigs, there is absolutely no reason to not have the offspring automatically sold, as selling a pig before getting offspring nets the exact same result. Or at least maybe give a friendly hint that you COULD sell a pig before offspring? (similar to passing when you can play cards for free, or forgetting to use a helper)
