I cannot progress and cannot play my other arena games because this one is blocking.

Tried two browsers and still have the same issue.

This sounds more like a temporary issue, either with the connection or probably the BGA servers itself.
Just checked the game, nothing special happened and it is correctly saying it is your opponent’s turn.
