Same thing happened during game #513403801
Didn't try to F5
I also played Breathing filters as my last card with Mars University Effect already on my board. Didn't allow as I couldn't discard a card (my hand was empty). However Mars University Effect says one MAY discard a card not MUST. In my case I didn't have Olympus Conference on my board.
Tried to repeat a few times but got the same error each time.

I ran into this bug again, this time playing Trans-Neptune Probe as my final card. It seems that it is not possible to play your last card in hand if it has a science tag AND you have Mars University in play.

Similar error. Just played Mars University. Already had Olympus Conference. Tried to pick card to discard from hand. Did not pick card but game asked to Confirm. I tried to cancel and got the following error message:

Invalid or missing substitution argument for long message: ${you} must confirm ${name}: string, substitute could not find key "name" in template

I did exact this test and it prompts
" You must confirm Discard Card from Hand ⤇ Draw Card in Hand [Confirm] [Skip] [Cancel]"
You just press skip.
If you press Confirm you must discard a card, its not optional anymore.

If I have no cards in hand, either the confirm button needs to not be available, or after clicking confirm, it should detect that there are no cards in hand.

And why you cannot just press Skip? The problems it optional action, and I cannot easily auto-skip it.

It seems in the BGA adaption, Mars University is set up in a way that discarding a card is mandatory, which does not correspond to the rule. In game 579201096, move 316, I wanted to play Mars University, but then I the game did not give me the option to skip the discard. Since I didn't want to discard any of my cards, I undid playing Mars Uni.

The game asks you to trigger the effect or not
" You must confirm Discard Card from Hand ⤇ Draw Card in Hand [Confirm] [Skip]"

If you press Confirm you must discard. If you undid this move - there is prove that it was a prompt or not.
If anybody can provide a table # and move # which shows NO prompt on reply (and you did not undo it) you can add the comment and I will re-open it - otherwise there is no prove and no bug
