It says "during your turn". Everyone else can play bangs
Bangs are DISCARDED, not USED during a Duel. So I should have been allowed to DISCARD a Bang on move 156 in table table=484847596.
"Discard" means the card is moved from your hand into the discard pile (it has no in-game effect), while "use" means to play the card so that it has some effect on the game.
This is the move in question:
rfang00 discards BANG!
dvkvrtk automatically loses in a Duel because of The Sermon event card rules
dvkvrtk loses a life point
So Duel is a special card in which Bangs are DISCARDED, not USED.
I think the current implementation misinterprets the word "use" in Sermon and should focus on whether or not BOTH players CAN or CANNOT "use" Bang cards.
Duel: With this card you can challenge any other
player (staring him in the eyes!), regardless of
the distance. The challenged player may discard a BANG!
card (even though it is not his turn!). If he does, you may
discard a BANG! card, and so on: the first player failing to
discard a BANG! card loses one life point, and the duel is
over. You cannot play Missed! or use the Barrel during a
duel. The Duel is not a BANG! card. BANG! cards discarded
during a Duel are not accounted towards the “one BANG!
card” limitation.
Sermon: Each player cannot use BANG! cards during his turn.
