I think the interface should be more intuitive if you put 3 buttons "Play a card and applay the card played effect" - "Discard a card and apply the discard effect" and "Draw a card."

At table 114012, I was able to take my first turn but am now stuck on a Confirm your turn prompt. Not sure if that is exactly the same as this bug report.
